My recent stay at Komandoo Island Resort was nothing short of a blissful escape to paradise. While I have visited other resorts in the Maldives with superior beaches, food, and rooms, it was the exceptional hospitality and enchanting experiences that truly won me over. From the moment we arrived, we were embraced with genuine warmth and treated like cherished guests. The staff at Komandoo went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met, and their unwavering dedication made us feel like part of their extended family. Their kindness and attentiveness added an extra layer of magic to our stay. The absolute highlight of our trip was the stunning house reef located just steps away from our beach villa. We saw an abundance of marine life, including sharks, turtles, stingrays, and a myriad of colorful fish. It was truly a magical experience to be able to explore the underwater world right at our doorstep. In the evenings, we were delighted by the presence of nurse sharks near the Aqua restaurant. The restaurant staff and the head chef deserve special recognition for their exceptional service and culinary talents. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. While it is worth mentioning that the food options were somewhat limited during the low season, it is completely understandable and commendable that the resort takes steps to reduce food waste. Despite the fewer choices, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals served. Furthermore, I highly recommend staying on the sunrise side of the resort. The water on the sunrise side of the resort was noticeably calmer compared to the sunset side. While the resort may not boast the absolute best beaches in the Maldives, it is the unparalleled hospitality and the experiences it offers that make it a place worth returning to.

If I tried to fit everything good we experienced here into one review it would be a novel. We came here from the USA for our wedding and honeymoon, and it could not have been more perfect. The service here is absolutely top notch. All guests are assigned an employee to handle all of their needs for each room. Likewise, you will have the same server for each meal who will be aware of what foods you like and what dietary restrictions you have. We have allergies and other food restrictions and the sous chef took the time to speak with us and make sure all of the food was safe to eat. Speaking of the food, it was ridiculously good. We were spoiled for choice with each meal. The island itself is absolutely gorgeous. Just unreal turquoise and blue water and white sugar sand beaches. There is a ton of wildlife here, as well. Baby sharks near the shores, crabs, hermit crabs, lizards, geckos, sea birds, fruit bats, and so many species of tropical fish. If you love the beach and animals, this is the place for you. We cannot think of a single negative thing to say. This place is truly paradise! Special thanks to Waasil, Alex and Youssef for making our trip beautiful and memorable!

Everywhere we looked it was like a postcard. Clean white sandy beach, clear turquoise water, colourful sky, bright stars at night, lush plants and trees, and colourful marine life in the water. We even saw a rainbow one day! We brought back so many beautiful memories. Food was of great quality and variety. I really enjoyed the fresh tropical fruits available at every meal, and a juicer to make my own juice at breakfast. There was a different theme every night. We particularly enjoyed the massive sushi boat with fresh tuna sashimi, an authentic tandoori oven cooking fresh chicken and naan bread, pan-fried fresh fish steaks and some western options such as burger and fries. Snorkelling was fantastic. We saw an assortment of colourful reef fish, turtles, small sharks and stingrays around the island. Currents can be strong and fins are recommended. Life jackets can be borrowed for free from the dive centre.

The water villa was perfect - loved the four-poster bed and private terrace with the ocean view that led straight into the water for great snorkeling. Staff were superb - cheerful, friendly, helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay special. A shout out to Saeed and his room decorations, Amar who organised the birthday surprises, Wahab for looking after us a mealtimes and his extra help, along with Annis and Suchi. And, of course, Alex and the kitchen staff who made sure we had great food. A very well organised and safe dive centre and dive boat with guides Fabs, Mel, and staff that made diving fun and relaxed. A nice spa. It's not on the water but the service and treatments were great. And, finally, to Navaz for making the time to chat to us. Hoping to be back soon.

Komandoo is the best destination for honeymooners that you can imagine. Boutique, tinny, romantic, adult-only island to walk barefoot, bunch of activities to do, so you won't get bored, beautiful house reef and delicious food. Everyone from the crew is happy and always smiling, I'd rate service 12/10. The crew is very personal and talkative. My wife's curling iron stopped working, I asked our host if there was any way to organize another one, and they sent someone to the opposite island to buy it for us. We have visited 40 countries and normally are not considering coming back to the same places, but for this resort we will make the exception. See you soon Komandoo!
